Matthew trained at East 15 Acting School, graduating in 2017, and has one on to work extensively in video games, on stage and screen.
Matthew's first foray into performance capture was the character of Fane in Divinity: Original Sin II, before working extensively on the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate III, one of the most anticipated role-playing games of the decade. Over four years, Matthew portrayed a wide array of characters and animals. Matthew also trained with Neil Newbon at his renowned Performance Captured Academy. This intensive program equipped Matthew with the skills and techniques needed to excel in the highly specialized field of performance capture, including an understanding of the nuances of motion capture technology, character work, and the physicality required to portray a wide range of roles.
Matthew has trained in stage combat, with certification in unarmed combat, rapier and dagger techniques. For Matthew's work in the WWI film The Burying Party and the theatrical production of Henry V at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Matthew underwent basic firearms training, specifically in the use of rifles and pistols.
